Proelia and Defcon are the same company. Sort of like Zero Tolerance and Kershaw or WE and Civivi. Proelia and Defcon come out of Chino, California. Their parent company has some mission about bringing Eastern products (like katanas and such) to the West (US).

Like to know blade tang lengths of the knives . Happy with the quality of the inexpensive models . I install rubber O-rings to secure knives to the plastic sheaths .

Just wondering if you've tried out the Sharpal 127n? I bought it recently and have sharpened evert edge I have in the house. It seems very versatile and also compact enough to fit in my EDC/hunting/camping gear pack. Love the knife handle design as well. Check it out if you haven't. Cheers!

For me, the Arc is worth it. I’ve wanted to get a MagnaCut knife for a while, so it covers that. Also, I’ve wanted to skip carrying a dedicated knife and carry just the multitool and the better blade steel makes me more comfortable with that as well. The Wave+ I have is pretty nice, does most of what I want, but I don’t like the fact that not all tools can be opened from the outside and with one hand. Every tool on the Arc can be opened one-handed, and the locking mechanism is much nicer as well. My only minor gripe is no serrated blade for cutting fibrous materials, but it rarely got used anyway.

We have lwned Wustof knives for 30 years. You get what you pay for. When I sharpen them to 10,000 grit the edge lasts for over a year. They get used everyday. Great knives make great gifts especially for weddings. They will outlast a good long marriage.

As a former knifemaker I can recomend Ikea santoku X50crmov15 steel for about 10 or 12 bucks. Very thin blade and slicy edge is uselles in the woods but awesome in the Kitchen. Properly heat treated steel holds the edhe nicely and all I need to do is occasionally a few moves on leather with polishing paste. I made about 600 knives but in the kitchen is this one my most used knife. I´m cooking almost every day.

If you're worried about teflon pans I'd definitely get rid of that plastic cutting board too. Those are terrible. Microplastic factory.

It was interesting to hear you could sharpen a 62 HRC steel with those Shapton stones. I have almost the same stones and I thought I need diamonds if I want to sharpen such steel.

I find the can/bottle opener to be useful in puncturing most empty aerosol cans before throwing them into the trash.

Hey, from Nova Scotia, Canada. Thanks for the video, I have about 11 pocket knives everything from Case, Crkt Spyderco, Browning, Kershaw, Gerber, Sog. The reason I (dumb) have so many is because once the knife became dull I simply couldn’t sharpen properly with a variety of other sharpeners. Since I purchased this sharpener, I have sharpened most all to a razor sharp edge .

Scandi grind is good only for mass-producer. Flat grind is much more universal and practical.

Great testing. I believe ESEE claims 20 degrees default from them, but by hand, so it isn't precise. In their own videos they broke the S35VN version.

I didn't expected miracles from cold steel but terava is quite disappointment. I have knife with 80crv2 blade by Brisa (63HRC) and edge retention was very close to D2. So terava doesn't do proper heat treat?

Carbon is not supposed to hold edge better, it is supposed to be sharper and easy to sharpen. The fact that it also held the edge better is awesome.

When he sharpened it, was he focusing on the secondary bevel or the scandi? Im confused about how to sharpen this knife

I don’t like small thin ferro rods so I won’t buy the light my fire companion but I have a few regular companions and they are the best bang for your buck. It’s funny to me that you like the kansbol because I just got one and the same burnt orange color and it’s fabulous. I won’t spend twice the price of a companion for half the size blade on an eldris, imo they are a rip off. The Fin line is an absolute rip off for that money I would buy a bark river. The garberg same thing, I got an Esee instead.

Do not purchase this knife! It is absolute junk! It is dull out of the box. It has burrs in the blade. It is made from the same metal used for pots and pans. It cannot hold an edge. It is absolute junk!

In my opinion is shamefull that company like Cold Steel use 4116 and such a folder costs 50 or 60 bucks when you can have for this price awesome D2, 14c28, aus10 etc knives and Cold steel iis made in thaiwan anyway. It's ok for kitchen knife for 15 bucks. 4116 is very similar or even equivalent of 5cr15 or x50crmov15 so the bottom of the chart of knife steels.

Nothing beats the Fallkniven DC4 for me. The DC3 might be a bit small, never tried it, but the DC4 means I rarely pull out my DMT plates to sharpen anything even if I'm home. Works amazingly well on Scandi grinds and axes as well, at least for me.
